Musical puppet show and concert
In this interactive, tropical journey presented by the Kabóca Puppet Theater, Anna Gulyás, and Danny Bain, music, storytelling, and puppetry are woven together to create a truly festive gathering.
Mama Yeye and her puckish drumming companion, Guga, are preparing for the Festival of the Tides on the Brazilian coast, to celebrate Yemanjá, the Goddess of the Sea. During the celebration, which incorporates the rhythms and percussion of Brazil, they recount how humans almost never had music at all, when the instruments that were meant for them were stolen from sleeping gods by a mischievous band of monkeys. Luckily, with the help of the other animals in the rainforest, as well as the children in the audience, the instruments were recovered just in time to teach the humans to sing and dance!
